Measured patch-panel label strips, made on the phone in your hand
Type your port names, enter the strip you measured, and get an A4 or Letter PDF of label pieces at actual size — cut at whole ports, in the order you install them.
Three steps
- 1. Measure. Enter the strip's total width and height and how many ports it covers. Millimetres or inches, A4 or Letter, your choice.
- 2. Name the ports. One full-width row per port, in physical order, with Previous and Next above the keyboard so you can work down a 96-port panel without putting the phone down.
- 3. Review and share. Check the sheet, then send the PDF wherever you print from.
A real 24-port strip
A 432 mm strip covering 24 ports, on A4 landscape. These are the numbers on the sheet the app produced, read back out of the exported PDF.

Add two 6 mm gaps after ports 8 and 16 and each port becomes 17.5 mm, because the gaps take their space out of the same measured strip. Choose Letter and the pieces become ports 1–14 and 15–24. At 96 ports on the same strip each port is 4.5 mm, and the pieces are ports 1–61 and 62–96.
What you get
- Actual size, never scaled. The app draws at 100 % and cuts a long strip into pieces the sheet can hold, always at a whole port. If a single port is wider than the printable width, it refuses to export and says why rather than shrinking it.
- A check line on every sheet. A 50 mm line to measure with a ruler before you cut. If it does not measure 50 mm, your printer resized the page.
- Pieces in installation order. Each carries its own caption: which piece it is, the ports it covers, how wide it is, and where any gap sits.
- Type that fits, or an honest refusal. The whole sheet prints at one size, the largest between 9 and 6 pt that fits every label. If a label still will not fit, nothing is exported and every offending port is named and linked. Nothing is shrunk further, cut short, wrapped or quietly replaced.
- Warnings before losses. Reducing the port count names the labelled ports and gaps it would remove. Fill port numbers lists exactly which labels it would overwrite. Cancelling changes nothing.
- What you reviewed is what you send. Review builds the sheet once and shares those same bytes. Change anything and the sheet is withdrawn until you review again.
- Saved local projects. Named projects on the phone, with rename and a delete that names the project first. A save that fails says so and keeps your edits.
- Scripts that print as themselves. Accented Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic and CJK port names are shaped properly. A character with no glyph, or colour emoji, is refused by name instead of printing a hollow box.
What it does not do
- No manufacturer templates or equipment database. You measure the strip; the app uses your numbers and nothing else.
- No printer control. No driver, no label-printer support, no continuous media. It makes a PDF; printing is your own workflow.
- No fit guarantee. RackRibbon cannot check your printer or your hardware, which is what the 50 mm line is for.
- No one continuous strip on standard paper, and no wiring or standards advice, barcodes, photographs or free-form canvas.

Switching between millimetres and inches changes what you read, not what is stored: a 432 mm strip shown in inches and switched back is still exactly 432 mm.

Unlimited local projects, both paper sizes, millimetres and inches, group gaps, the full port editor, the fit check and the PDF. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no advertising, and nothing held back for a paid upgrade.
No price is published here yet, because the app is not on the App Store.
Your data
Projects are stored on your iPhone. The app has no account, no analytics and no networking code, and it works with the connection turned off. A PDF you share goes wherever you choose to send it. The privacy page has the detail.
Availability
RackRibbon is in development. It is not on the App Store, and no release date is set. The interface is English. It needs an iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
